“Ilona showed us that international conferences don’t have to be boring.”

Ambassador Austria

Moderation

One word is important when moderating conferences: interaction

Conferences where people take the static role of speaker or listener are boring and inefficient. People will get distracted and there will be less interest in the main goal of the conference. Just like with her trainings, Ilona tries to make conferences fun and lively. She achieves this with interaction: Ilona connects interactivity with the mail goal of the conference. A few conferences moderated by Ilona are:

  • Twenty ministers and 150 other guests gave their opinion about energy in Africa at an international conference at Vienna. From the ambassador of Austria Ilona received the following compliment: “Ilona showed us that international conferences don’t have to be boring.”
  • In a dynamic conference with a former minister, 150 residents of a district of The Hague were able to give their opinion.
  • At Haarlemmermeer local youth got involved with politics while debating.
  • Enschede held a conference to listen to their patients, instead of talking about them.
